It will take about 15 minutes by car to go from the airport to the city.� This highway runs along the ocean on your right side and the desert on your left side.� You will also pass some poor housing developments.� Still, this road is safe and clean. Before it reaches Downtown, the road passes in front of the Costanera Sur (a narrow highway that runs along the beach on the Southern side) and Chinchorro Beach , one of the three main beaches in Arica, and the longest one.
