Joshua Tree National Park

beach mojave desert flowers Lots of posts in the blogosphere recently about travel in the southwest states near Lake Havasu and the Grand Canyon. The desert flowers are spectacular this year.

Day three we drove south across the park to Cottonwood stopping to see many sites with the most impressive being the GREEN desert. Wild flowers were everywhere and the desert was busting out with new growth from the recent rains. Everyone should visit the desert after a major rain!!! We continued on acessing I-10 and then coming north on H-95 to Lake Havasu AZ. There are lots of people in the desert communities especially anywhere water is available. We drove on to Laughlin and finally back ot our home in Las Vegas. A long drive but another great day exploring.

Lake Havasu is becoming really strict on the parting! I seen a woman get a ticket for flashing a little skin and the police are beginning to pull people over for almost anything. What other lakes do you know of where the party is good and the cops are a little more relaxed? If you go to Havasu be ready to be on good behavior.
