Black Sand Beaches of Hawaii
If you're on Hawaii's black sand beaches, keep your eye out for Portugese Man of War body parts while you're sunbathing.
Visitors beware - If you are walking barefoot on the beach in Waianapanapa State Park keep your eyes peeled for Portuguese Man-of-War bladders. These transparent blue tinged bubbles with long trailing tails washed up onto the beaches by a south-easterly wind, give a painful sting. A further warning – Nude sunbathing is not only frowned upon on the islands, but it is illegal.

I just heard that it was illegal to take black sand off of a black beach...Is this true, and why is that. I've never been to Hawaii, But my family is planning a big trip out there 2007 summer... I don't want to be doing something that I'm not suppose to... I've never even seen Black sand... My sister-in-law said that Hawaii has like 7 different colors of sand, Is it illegal to take any other sand out of Hawaii? and Why?
