Beach Party

The Beach Boys used to sing about endless summers. These days, at least two of them seem to be caught up in endless litigation.

Recently rated the premier clothing optioinal resort in the Caribbean by Caribbean Travel and Life Magazine. It is also the original clothing optional resort on French St. Martin.

Speed windsurfers have taken the next step forward in the development of their class. The Speed Class becomes the 7th member class of the International Windsurfing Association (IWA), a move that founder member Jan-Cas Smit, from the Netherlands, described as .. "significant and challenging".

Also checkout their swimwear. Not a large selection, but I found the perfect suit for swimming and water aerobics at the gym. The swimsuits are $10 off!

We met Robe and Al at the Harvey’s parking lot and geared up. Well, they did. Saturday was one long freaking day. I woke up at 4 to get ready to head over to Eye’s house by 5 so we could get on the road to Tahoe. It was a fun ride up. We called Robe and Al to tell them where to meet us to find out that we had woken them up…it was 6:30. Lucky ducks.I just stood around since I had no gear. I rented my board from this small rental shop across the street from Heavenly for all of $30 [a Burton board AND bindings…not bad for a rental. $33 if you count insurance]. I really liked the employees there and will definitely rent from them again and again and again until I buy my own board. They amped me up a lot for my first time boarding and I talked to one of the girls about surfing.

Today, Novy Aphon is the “must see” of the Abkhaz Orthodox Church, as well as a major tourist spot alongside the Anacopia gorge nearby. The numerous Russian tourists come on a day trip from neighbouring Gagra, and both sites get particularly busy in those grey days when sunbathing is not an option. Small wonder, as Gagra doesn’t offer much apart from its long beach, which is, on the other hand, what the average tourist from central Russia has been longing for throughout the year. Still, the curious traveller heading for the hilly streets up the Caucasus slopes is likely to hear a dozen languages: from Armenian or Pontic Greek to the north Caucasian family; Adygean, Circassian, Chechen, Kabardin…and Abkhaz, of course; “a language spoken in guttural voices, somewhat reminiscent of an eagle’s cry” according to Paustovsky’s perception.

Who goes nude sunbathing? Everyone! Even one of our founding father’s Ben Franklin was a big advocate of nude sunbathing. Resort goers average from their 20’s to 70’s in age. They are teachers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, movie stars, entrepreneurs, police, and firefighters. About the only thing Democrats and Republicans agree on at nude resorts is they both enjoy nude sunbathing. The reason repeat guests love nudist resorts so much is they were tired of the same old boring chain hotel vacations.

Port Elizabeth woke up to a magnificent African Sunshine Day. Sparkling water, light easterly breeze and warm sunshine. The last day of the Pre-Worlds and it looked like the weather gods had dished up a goodie. Most of the sailors piled the sunscreen on and took their sea sickness remedies, before leaving for the three last races.

As you will see it seems as though solid colored bikini’s are the “in” thing. If you want to be bold and have the body for it then stripes might not look to bad either.

Dubbed the “soul of Malaysia’s east coast”, Pantai Dasar Sabak is a rustic fishing village where the Japanese Army landed before they make their way south to Singapore and occupied Malaya in December 1941. It is suitable for coming, sunbathing, as well as catching the sights and sounds of fishing village.

The tourist destination more important in the Valencian Community without a difference, is Benidorm. Valencia comes second, with the City of Arts and Sciences and its Oceanography center as the main attractions. But when we think of a beach vacation we still think of Benidorm as the leading city in Spain for vacation, due to its famous hotels and well throughout city in which one can enjoy great weather all year round.

My other resolution was to get my boat home and start working on it. In the above photo it’s the one on the right, its a San Juan 21 foot sailboat that is rigged and weighted for racing. However that will change as Samantha doesn’t like it “tipping.” I have accomplished the first step of actually getting it in my back yard (and I LOVE having it sitting there, I look at it every day!) After two days in the car, I landed in the place of my visualizations - beachfront resort town, palm trees, blooming bushes, ocean waves, sandy beaches, and carefree sunny days. I realized almost immediately that I hadn’t thought past that scene. In my mind, I always see the same images when I think of visiting family in the Florida Keys. I stay in the same place, see the same sights and spend a week or so living the ultimate vacation lifestyle.
