Another good thing to do is make sure that you check your pets, especially your dogs, for fleas and ticks on a regular basis and that you keep up with their necessary veterinary appointments. Picking up after you pet’s droppings is also of vital importance as pet waste “can represent a major source of bacterial pollution when rain washes it into waterways and on to beaches”. Basically, you just need to keep in mind that your pet is part of your family so you need to treat them with the same amount of environmentally-conscious respect as you do the rest of your family.
