Beach Party

Since it was a "beach vacation", it seemed only appropriate to knit something with a beach theme! [That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ;-)] Presenting ... Glass Beach :

While most Jersey Shore towns like Sea Isle City consider May to be the first major beach vacation month because of Memorial Day and college students getting out of school, April can often provide you with idyllic San Diego like temperatures and climate.

The tourist destination more important in the Valencian Community without a difference, is Benidorm. Valencia comes second, with the City of Arts and Sciences and its Oceanography center as the main attractions. But when we think of a beach vacation we still think of Benidorm as the leading city in Spain for vacation, due to its famous hotels and well throughout city in which one can enjoy great weather all year round.

After two days in the car, I landed in the place of my visualizations - beachfront resort town, palm trees, blooming bushes, ocean waves, sandy beaches, and carefree sunny days. I realized almost immediately that I hadn’t thought past that scene. In my mind, I always see the same images when I think of visiting family in the Florida Keys. I stay in the same place, see the same sights and spend a week or so living the ultimate vacation lifestyle.

The Cyclades is the cluster of islands most accessible from Athens. Mykonos is at the top of the popularity pole. It takes 3.5 hours on a sea cat or six hours on a ferry. Mykonos has it all — postcard villages, traditional Greek culture, narrow cobbled streets, olive groves and tavernas, providing plenty of nightlife. In fact it is known as the playground island.

Here are a few pictures from our Orange Beach vacation this year. As you can see, we had a great time again this year!!! The weather was absolutely wonderful and it seems that the kids spent as much time in the water as they did out of it.

The weekend weather was not your normal beach vacation weather but that didn’t stop us from having a great time – even though we didn’t dip our toes into Lake Michigan. We did some of our favorite activities in the area & also some new things that are now on our “must do” list for the area.

During my short beach vacation this last April with my family, I was swimming with my cousins. They were screaming and diving into the waves, begging me to get my hair wet as I trembled waist deep at the sharp, freezing pain of the Atlantic Ocean. As I pondered how they had talked me into this, my thoughts were burst by the sudden question, blurted through salt-choked sea giggles, "Why did you peirce your nipples?"

I’m going to be recommending a winter beach vacation to all. There’s no crowd, the restaurants are easy to get into and grateful you came. There’s plenty of fresh fish at the seafood market. There’s no sliding on chairs because of excessive sunblocking lotion. All things considered, it was the best idea Al and Mary Ann ever had. Tip: Take an iron skillet. Blackening fish in a regular pan isn’t a very good idea…

I’m still workin on the highs and lows of the beach vacation post, but since returning things are getting back to normal, but Jenifer and I are both eking out as much of the “beach feel” as we can. As we both showed up to dinner last night in shorts and sandals and late last night she massacred a pineapple for a snack.

Honestly, Bulgaria had never been on my list of places to visit, but when A. told me that the conference was at the Black Sea coast, it sounded intriguing. I looked up the place that we were to visit on the web. I found out that Sozopol is an ancient Greek settlement and boasts an archeological museum, but for the most part is a beach resort. It wouldn’t be a vacation full of sightseeing. It would be a beach vacation made up of frolicking at the beach, ambling along the streets of an ancient Greek settlement, eating Bulgarian food, drinking wine, and just plain relaxing.

The highlight of our beach vacation was.. the beach. On the first day, I took out the beach toys. A bucket, spade, rake, watering can and other tools they could use to build sandcastles with. The kids were delighted. They set about building one sandcastle after another, using the corals around us to decorate each castle.

Mauritius, one of the Mascarene Islands, is fast attracting $1,000-a-night sun-seekers from North America looking to top off an African safari with a beach vacation.

Now we are home, and im very happy because i am back with my Alias DVD´s!!! its also just that much closer to Mallorca beach vacation!! well im goign to run along now and go swim suit shopping, so i hope everone has a nice weekend. there will be more pictures up soon.....peace out!
