South Beach Monopoly
Updated MonopolyThis one cracked me up - the latest version of Monopoly is “Here and Now”, updated for the times with new properties like Times Square, The Mall of America, LAX, South Beach and the Golden Gate Bridge. They’ve also revamped the playing pieces including a RAZR phone, Toyota Prius, Starbucks coffee, McDonalds fries and - a New Balance sneaker. Nice one Hasbro!

Sister Love
The sister is buying a ticket to South Beach.
How cool is that?Last night she also told me she is buying me a ticket to go visit her next month so we can go to a concert. South Florida in August isn’t the greatest time to visit her neck of the woods, but I know we will have a record breaking good time and the gay bars of South Beach are calling my name.

The South Shore
This blogger did not like The Shore Club in South Beach.
The South Beach Ad Show with La Espanita is done, and now I'm visiting my friends the Dins in Fort Lauderdale. Mi Ya Mi was strange and disorienting: it is bad to land in the US, which confuses me enough, without being in such a schitzo place like Mi Ya Mi.

Ten Years Later
A lament about South Beach ten years after Gianni Versace was gunned down.
Something’s still bothering me from my visit to South Beach last week: Gianni Versace — not the fact that he lived in South Beach, but that he died there. Not even that… simply, the after effects.

Vix
The food: Mr. Wierzelewski, I am delighted that you have been on a trip around the world to learn about flavors and follow the spice route as we were told by our waiter. But, my most heartfelt advice to you is to focus on one of the places you liked the most and really, really create "first-rate" dishes. Your menu is all over the place. . Indian, Moroccan, Asian, ceviche, Florida stone crab claws. . .I truly believe that if you will pick one. .probably the Moroccan. . and just go with it. . that you will have the kind of reputation that brings people back again and again. And, that is what South Beach restaurants really need to survive longterm rather than just as the Restaurant of This Year.

Queer Life
We're waiting for the made up stories.
There’s a lot of wierd stuff that goes on around here…drugs, sex, parties (3 day ones!)… I’ll tell what I know, what I think, and if I don’t know the full story I’ll make stuff up. Just wait until after THIS weekend–Thanksgiving is tomorrow…Tony Moran is playing at South Beach in Houston on Saturday…BIG crowds expected all weekend. I work at one of the Gay Clubs, and I get to see a lot of what most people miss.

Baseball Threat!
Life in the sunshine.
We don’t support baseball because it is boooooorrrriiiinnngg!!!! It is about as exciting as watching …….BASEBALL!!!!! This is South Florida, and we have sunshine 365 days of the year, no snow, the ocean, South Beach, deep sea fishing, jet skiiing, the Florida Everglades, tropical nights, and none of us have time to watch grown men dressed up like they are in pajamas scratching their nuts and spitting chewing tobacco out onto a field that the NFL have to play on! (A REAL sport).

I Love Miami!
Happy Birthday!
We decided to go to the Delano, a Phillipe Stark hotel just two doors down, for dinner. Phillipe Stark hotels are always a little 80s (remember the Royalton?). The whole night was tinted with the pale champagne glow of glamour, as we ate lobster at the Delano, people watched on the streets of South Beach, and snuck into a very fancy party in the penthouse of the Raleigh where the Cristal was freely flowing! The guard stationed next to the elevator reserved for the penthouse party seemed to know we weren’t invited. But the busboy in the other elevator didn’t! Standing on the deck of the penthouse, sipping Cristal for the second time that night, I thought, “I LOVE MIAMI!”

South Beach Voted Best
Well, whether it's the best or not, South Beach is a terrific beach.
South Beachs broad, immaculate strand ranks as one of the Travel Channels top ten beaches in the world. The Surfrider Foundation voted it the premier urban beach in the U.S.

South Beach as Cuba
This is really about politics, rather than beaches, something we shy away from...
He makes it sound like South Beach circa 2005 is Cuba on a bad day. Are things really that bleak for poor Octavio? Let's read further and find out.

Spring Break Report
Topless, really?
We picked up the rental car and headed from FT Lauterdale to South Beach. It was raining but warm. After we dropped our stuff off at Jason's parents condo we headed out for some dinner and beers.
The next few days were, awesome, sunny, warm, perfect beach weather. Oh yeah did I mention the beaches there are topless, another perk. We came home one night after an after party at Denny's as it was already gettign light out. Going to bed at 6:30am to get up at noon, is rough, but all good hard work has it's rewards. Other Highlights included gettign thrown out of a bar after we gave one of Jonathans army buddies a drink. But we snuck him into another bar Saturday night. We also met these two really cool chicks from Long Island, who were awesome to hang out with. Sunday night they came over for some Beer pong and a couple games of asshole.
