Harriers Over Havasu
A disappointed birder at Lake Havasu.
Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time. But 735 miles later, I’m not so sure. Lake Havasu, the largest body of water in Arizona, could have come through big-time this time of year. But it didn’t.

Apache Lake
Apache Lake is a great alternative to Lake Havasu.
After a festive night like that, it should come as no surprise that the sun was high in the sky before we were high on the road. As we roared out of Surprise in the Town Car, heading East on Bell Ave, we still weren’t 100% sure of our destination. We thought about Lake Havasu but were leaning towards something a bit more rugged. The Apache Trail kept tugging at our hearts.

Joshua Tree National Park
Day three we drove south across the park to Cottonwood stopping to see many sites with the most impressive being the GREEN desert. Wild flowers were everywhere and the desert was busting out with new growth from the recent rains. Everyone should visit the desert after a major rain!!! We continued on acessing I-10 and then coming north on H-95 to Lake Havasu AZ. There are lots of people in the desert communities especially anywhere water is available. We drove on to Laughlin and finally back ot our home in Las Vegas. A long drive but another great day exploring.

Piranha Remake?
Will this picture keep the kids out of Lake Havasu?
Hollywood's maniacal pursuit of the unoriginal continues apace with news that Joe Dante's classic 1978 comedy-horror Piranha is to be remade.
This time round the story will centre on a school of ravenous fish that attacks a college community in Lake Havasu, Arizona.

Arizona, London Bridge and Daleks
I've always wanted to know why Robert McCulloch paid a couple million to move London Bridge.
It’s been a pretty easy week workwise, not too much drama which is A-ok as far as I’m concerned. Lake Havasu was interesting, got to take plenty of pictures of the London Bridge with my phone which will be posted when I get home. For those of you that are unaware, was in one incarnation, relocated to the desert. I would’ve moblogged, except for the fact that T-Mobile coverage here is spotty, at best.
