And they have pictures. I count five bikini-clad occupants of the boat. Nicholson is not one of them.

Finally, on the concern that I might be pushing myself too hard and for the wrong reasons I am willing to conceed that you may be right. Wanting to look good in a bikini in time for my trip to Malta is probably not the most admirable reason to restart CRON. None the less, it was precisely the motivation I needed to get serious about my health again.

We love Tyra’s “I Swear I’m Not Fat” Tour more than anybody, but we’re not looking forward to seeing her squeeze into that polka dot bikini again. Is anybody looking forward to that? Seriously… we need to know.

As you will see it seems as though solid colored bikini’s are the “in” thing. If you want to be bold and have the body for it then stripes might not look to bad either.

The best thing about it, though, is the Contributors section. WW runs a bikini contest in which people submit photos of themselves in their WW swimsuits. The thing I like most about it is that WW seem to be pretty egalitarian in their tastes. While many of the women they feature are young and slim, there are plenty of older bodies, and there is a noticeable dearth of the silicone that one tends to associate with tiny swimsuits.

This weekend Mito had its big festival. Its kinda equivalent to the State fair but instead of seeing people dressed like white trash, you see people dressed in kimonos. We will post some pictures, so be sure to check it out. It came at the perfect time because the Waughs were here visiting. They couldn’t have come on a better weekend. The streets were decorated with red lanterns and streamers, all the japanese wore kimonos, and there was always some kind of activity going. It was amazing!! When you close your eyes and picture Japan, this is what you would picture. It started out Friday night with an hour and half long fireworks show. Then on Saturday, they had a parade and a “dance” parade. There were too many groups to count and I be there were at least 100 people in each group. Each group was dressed differently, there were several groups dressed in different styles of kimonos, a hawaiin group, a group of old men and women dressed in bubble gum pink, a bikini group, and yes, even an elvis group. It definitley was a sight to see.

If the Blogfather himself is talking about it, then it would be incredibly remiss if mention was not made of the fact that 2006 is the 60th anniversary of the bikini.

Now, I'm really not a shallow person... And I'm sure that some of them are fantastic people... But wow.... They should have people in whatever store they got their swimsuits that watch these people and use a cattle prod on them when they get close to the bikini section....

January 4th… The day is finally here! After working my ass off in a coffee bar (Kaffebrenneriet) in Oslo for the last 6 months, I can at last lower my shoulders and start thinking of sunny beaches and girls in bikini…. ahhhhhh! My plane leaves 13:40 from Oslo Airport and after a seven hours in between stop i Vienna I will reach Bangkok on Thursday morning.

As Szego points out, if I want to, I can dress for a business meeting with a bit of cleavage showing. I can wear a bikini on the beach. It doesn't give anyone licence to treat me as an object. After about a week we went on a walk. The taxi drove us to the eastside of Taveuni, Lavena, where we went on a 3 hours walk to a waterfall. The weather was not very good and about half way up it started raining. The final 30 minutes were pretty wet, the track became more and more slippery. But we made it! We could see the first waterfall but not the second one on the left side. So we put on our bikini and swam the last part. It was a mystic place, volcanic rock formation, beautifl, unfortunately I didn’t bring my underwater case for my digit camera.

The Pride Festival won out. A quick trip up Peachtree on Marta and a few blocks to the park and suddenly I was in a different world - without one of my gay friends at my side to steer us around! Of course first we had to get by those fundamentalists trying to get our souls saved - I’d forgotten about having to do that part. It was great to be in that park! It was good to see same sex couples having a wonderful time without fear. It was kinda fun to see the two guys with (girl’s) bikini bottoms on, boas, and glitter on the chest hairs! I enjoyed visiting many different booths and learning so much about so many things. We’re planning a trip to Key West so I picked up some information on that. We visited the PFLAG booth and I finally found the button I’d been searching for - Straight but not Narrow, with Pride!

What a good time! At first, I wished I'd brought my bathing suit, but then when I saw all the skinny, pre-baby, girl bodies running around in their bikinis (i'm not bitter, really.) and I was glad I hadn't. One of the things that we saw at the pre-race expo last weekend was some women’s underwear that can best be described as racing thongs. California Girl prefers to run in some plain mid-rise cotton bikini underwear so I didn’t think that there would be much of a market for athletic panties. There is one woman at work who works out in a moderate thong. I thought that she was just wearing the same underwear that she started the day with. When your having a bad day, I always say think of Chickens in Bikinis. For some reason I think a chicken in a bikini would be quite hilarious.
