The beaches in Maui will have less plastic soon!
Our little community of Paia is trying to become the first plastic bag free town in Hawaii. With a local populace full of water sports enthusiasts, we have seen the impact of plastic bags on marine life first hand. Members of the community have been working with local merchants to switch to cloth and biodegradable bags.

Great Beaches In The Bahamas
If you travel to The BahamasXanadu Beach is a popular tourist destination located in Freeport. There are a variety of activities available, including water sports such as parasailing and beach sports such as volleyball. Because of the pleasant atmosphere, the beach also attracts a local crowd, in addition to tourists. This beach is not uncomfortably crowded, and although it attracts enough people to have an active social scene, it is large enough that there is room to enjoy a bit of solitude.

Jellyfish Delay Hollywood Filming
JellyfishSee, I’ve been to Fraser Island. It’s this absolutely gorgeous remote place that screams “paradise”. However, Fraser is also known for its off-shore reputation of sharks. Lots of ‘em. I took an airplane ride above the waters around the island and actually pointed out several fairly close to shore. So, if the jellyfish don’t get you, the sharks might. Regardless of impacts to filming, this development is pretty serious for water sports around the eastern shore.

Walking On Water?
Kitesurfing explained.

Cyprus
Some travel tips for the beaches of Cyprus.
Businesses clustered around the harbor advertise water sports, including fishing, snorkeling, daylong cruises, self-drive speedboats and yacht rentals. The town’s beach is a strip of sand and rocks that runs from the city center out to the large hotels on its outskirts. Though small, it is popular — and it is a blue flag beach, meaning it meets EU standards for safety, cleanliness and environmental concerns.

Summertime
I love watermelon, too.
Everyone who knows me knows I LOVE summer, and for a variety of reasons – longer daylight hours, baseball, water sports, and the delicious assortment of summer fruits and vegetables. I especially love watermelon. Nothing cools me down in the summer faster than a bowl full of cold watermelon cubes. You should even try them frozen. Just cut the watermelon in 1 inch cubes, place them on a cookie sheet, and set them in the freezer for just a few minutes. The water in them crystallizes and the result is an even sweeter and colder treat.

Dippin' Tootsies in the Water
Water turns all of us into kids.
Also, what is it about water sports that brings out the teenager in all of us? About five minutes into a long ski run yesterday my left knee suddenly filed a complaint against my adolescent brain for subjecting it to such unwarranted abuse. Tough luck, I say - fun is a fleeting streak in the hot night sky for most of us working stiffs, so we’re going to revel in it while we’re on vacation.
