Kirra Beach Surfing
Kirra beach is set to become a world-class surfing beach.
Much of Kirra beach could be covered in turf and then turned into green foreshore park (like much of Coolangatta has been). This is all part of a radical plan to restore the world-famous surf spot to its former glory. “It would also mean the sand (close to the water’s edge) will erode naturally and if the parkland was lined up with the groynes we could see Kirra Point come back to a world-class surf spot.”

November Surfing In Sitges
The gay boys surfing in Sitges.
Aiguadolc beach was treated to a hot Surfing display late yesterday evening when some Australian boys took on the waves of Sitges. The weather was a beautiful 23 degrees yesterday, but the water looked quite cold.

Aloha!
Click through for lots of pictures of surfing, snorkeling, and sunbathing in Hawaii.
This is Wakiki Beach, the surfing spot of the world. Some areas of the beach are calmer, but not anywhere close to our hotel! This place was packed with surfers, snorklers, splashers, sunbathers, and - of course! - Asians. And I'm sure, if you look closely, you'll find an Asian video taping!

Falling Off The Edge Of The World
I've heard of Niagra Falls and Angel Falls, but never Puerto Iguazu y Fox do Iguacu.
On the Argentinean side there was one area that truly showed the power of the falls off: there is a large ledge where several hundred metres of waterfalls drop their loads, from 70 metres above, onto. This water, already a churning mass, can’t simply flow off the next edge of this ledge, but is funnelled to the right, when looking at the falls, through to one spot, one waterfall of about 30 metres or so! The result; a huge churning, exploding, beast of a mass of atomic powered and erupting water that I would imagine would have no qualms in removing all major limbs and external body parts of any person unlucky enough to tumble down there! It was awesome and maybe from my surfing days and knowing how powerful a 12-foot wave can feel, an ant versus this puppy, it actually scared me and sent a shiver down my spine watching and marvelling at it. If the world is short of power in the future then lets simply erect some sort of hydro-electric facility here and power not only all of mankind, but any other type of Galactic species we find in the future - I kid you not, 50 Hiroshima’s per second, forget BHP!!!! There’s enough to go round for everyone!

No Pics
Sadly, no wet suit pics from Fistral Beach.
I woke up last...apparently to the annoyance of Wayne...at around 9am. We all met for breakfast in the dining room, got ready and walked to Fistral beach for our first activity of the day....Surfing Lessons. Now if u think for a second that i am going to post any photos on here of me in a wet suit...or on a surf board...then u are sadly mistaken.

Which Board?
Click through and help make the choice for this surfboarder.
My new surfboard will be one of these two. Which one should I choose? Considering I know very little about surfing, or surf boards, lets go with aesthetics. What looks better? The second photo: the middle board.

Anyone Remember "Shred Magazine"?
I think I would have remembered!
Back in 1989, right before I hit college, I discovered the coolest magazine ever created. It wasn’t Spin or Rolling Stone or anything like that. It was called “Shred Magazine” and it blew my 17 year old mind apart. Essentially a hi-rent ‘zine, Shred covered not only skateboarding, surfing and other non-mainstream sports, it also had articles about bands I’d never heard of and political views that had just begun to picque my college-ready brain’s interest. The first issue had an article on Alan Moore and Bill Sienkiwicz’s “Brought To Light”, followed immediately by a profile on Charles Burns. There was a blatant pro-environment editorial stance that happened to coincide with my awakening desire to do my part to save the planet. Shred introduced me to the Church of the Subgenius and taught me that clip art wasn’t just for school flyers.

Artificial Waves Anyone?
Surf's On!
The Surfpark is built specifically for surfing and will include three separte pools including the Pro Surf Pool, the Training pool and the Boogie Pool for surfers of all ability levels. So Florida’s land of make believe will also have fantasy waves….how fitting! This will make it a lot easier for me to go visit the in-laws in Florida! I can take my daughter to Disney and surf world class artificial waves in the same day! Now we just need one up here somwhere outside of Boston so it’s kind of central to everyone in New England. What a great way to make it through flat spells and the cold of winter!

South Swells in Hawaii
Big waves in Hawaii. Which I were there!
Another High Surf Advisory has been issued for the South Shores of the Hawaiian Islands. This swell started to show up on the Shores of Maui late yesterday and is expected to build throughout the day with its peak coming tonight and Wednesday. Select beaches could expect wave faces with heights of 8-12 feet. There should be some fun wave riding to be had on island. This swell already made its presence known in the Pacific with some extra large surf in French Polynesia. The world championship tour of surfing was gearing up for its annual event at...

Mammal Friends
I've had flying fish next to a sailboat, and that was pretty spectacular, too.
Just another note. Today during surfing about three dolphin swam right under me. They were less than a foot away and so fast! I don’t think I have ever been that close to one.

Wouldn't it be great if every hotel had a Director of Surfin!
Now guests at the Waikiki Parc Hotel can get a sneak peak inside the surfing mystique with the appointment of the property's first-ever Director of Surfing, Hawaiian Fire's owner Garrett Valles. Learn to Surf in Bali
I can't think of a better place to learn to surf.
So, we checked out early *eeek* and came to Kuta, pretty much the tourist place. It’s fairly busy, but not as bad as I’d thought. Loads and loads of bead shops, cheap food (almost thai prices!) and we found a decent hotel with aircon, tv and nice bathroom for less than where we were staying before (11 pounds a night here, 12 at the other place). Now Emily doesn’t have to inspect the bathroom for unwanted creatures before she uses it haha!
There are lots of people here for surfing - I think I’d like to come back here and stay longer, learn to surf and explore the island more. The locals seem nice and friendly like Thai people, but it’s too early for me to say I feel entirely comfortable here yet!

Beach Concert
The moshing was fun, but you don't really get to enjoy the music when you’re at the area I'm at, unless your right by the barrier, as it provides you with support. I busy watching for people running into me during the mosh, at the same time from above, watching out for the damn body surfers. The body surfers always end up kicking you in the head/face when you least expect it. I really don't mind the body surfing, but some people just shouldn't be up there. If your too big, please don't body surf.
I'm actually surprised by the ratio of body surfers, I thought it'd be like a 9:1 ratio of guys to girls, but it turned out to be more like 1:1, an even number of girls went over my head as guys. It honestly makes me wonder, who really gets that violated up there, guys or girls. The girls seem to fly across fast to the front, while the guys slowly traverse atop the crowd. The audience where I was, had a majority of guys. Guys grab don't they? ughhh, I mean there was some fine ladies surfing up there. The guys that were body surfing above me were huge, damn; I'm just a small Asian boy in the middle of this massive crowd (I heard the crowd was at about 7,000 in capacity). At one point, I got fed up, and just tossed one of the surfers on the ground, he had probably 100lbs on me, so there was no way I would of been able to even keep him up there (for some reason space started to open up around me) even if I wanted to. The space that was opening up, was well... for the mosh-pit of course haha, oh man its fun in there, just running into people getting pushed around for no reason at all.
